The Pact-Trailer analysis

The Pact also uses darkness to create a similar effect as Grave encounters in the sense that it creates mystery and danger, the trailer then continues into the room giving the audience the feeling of being dragged into the room. These 2 features work together to re-enforce the horror genre.
The horror also uses the innocence of the little girl in contrast with the horror genre and then also shows signs of paranormal with a woman who it seems has been cut in half .
The camera work in The Pact is also similar to the use of camera work in Grave encounters as the camera in some clips becomes shaky to try to put the audience in the position /view of the attacker or protagonist in this case it is the view of the attacker, as the audience is in the view of the attacker they can not see who is the attacker leaving a sense of mystery.
There is also typical iconography reinforcing the religious undertone creating a sense of paranormal, this is combined with the music used to reinforce the feeling of paranormal.
